Incogni vs DeleteMe: compare the removal work

Routine broker coverage and a custom-request service are different things. Do not treat Incogni’s additional custom sites as thousands of routine scans, or assume a DeleteMe custom request will succeed for any URL. Ask about the exact sites exposing your information before buying.

DeleteMe’s Standard US list, updated August 6, includes Whitepages, Spokeo and BeenVerified. Its broader directory separately marks higher tiers, international plans and custom requests. That directory’s headline total is not Standard routine coverage.

Incogni’s terms say requests are electronic; it cannot submit for you when a broker requires postal mail or telephone. Some requests need your own verification. DeleteMe’s terms say its list can change and it does not remove everything online. Neither provider guarantees that third parties will honor requests.

Incogni advertises recurring removals and monthly reports; DeleteMe describes scans and removals throughout the year and quarterly reports. How often you get a report doesn’t tell you how often each site is rechecked, and neither company says.

Incogni requires identifying information and signed authorization to request removals. DeleteMe’s terms grant a limited power of attorney for removal work until cancellation. Both describe sharing identifying data with brokers to fulfill requests. Read the Incogni terms and DeleteMe terms before granting that authority.

Our advice: keep a list of your target profiles, verify any unexpected request for more information through the provider’s own support, and do not interpret an activity report as proof that every copy has disappeared.

Incogni: renews automatically unless canceled before renewal. Turning off renewal preserves access through the paid term. Its 30-day guarantee applies to the initial purchase, once; US renewals are not covered by that guarantee. Purchase-channel rules and applicable law can differ. Neither company guarantees a future renewal price, so save the billing terms and check your renewal notice. In the US, DeleteMe’s refund for unused time is more flexible than Incogni’s first-purchase guarantee. We haven’t tested a refund with either.

Try free people-search opt-outs if a few known profiles are the problem. California residents should also consider DROP, a free state service with its own scope and processing timeline. A subscription is optional.

Stay with an existing service when it covers your important listings at an acceptable cost. Before switching, compare those listings, your remaining paid time and refund terms. Your records and settings may not transfer. If you need to contain exposed credentials, payments or identity information, use recovery steps first. Neither removal plan is evidence that an unexpected message is genuine.

Choose Incogni Standard for the lower observed annual cost only if routine coverage is enough. Compare DeleteMe Standard when its custom-request and support features matter; include Incogni Unlimited in that decision. The category guide helps decide whether paid removal is the right job at all.
